We aim to provide value for money, deliver quality service and consistently exceed our customer's expectations.

Our Management Systems – Policies and procedures, encompassing Safety, Environment and Quality and are continually developing to meet ISO9001 Management System requirements. Our systems support our aim of providing a service that meets customer and regulatory requirements and continually improves our company.

Company objectives are defined and measured incorporating Economic, Customer, Process Compliance and People perspectives. This underpins our strategic plan / vision and we regularly review how we are currently structured and operate, the level of expertise of our employees and customer satisfaction levels.

In order for us to continually improve the service we provide, we ask our customer to complete a Customer Satisfaction Survey, providing a service rating and comments. Our aim is to deliver excellent service and ensure that you would use us in the future and recommend ourselves to others.

Health & Safety

Safety is paramount for anyone involved within the construction industry including householders and property owners too.

Atkinson Building Contractors is fully aware of its responsibilities with regards to health and safety and ensures compliance with all relevant legislation with regards to its employees, site visitors, householders, property owners and general public. To satisfy this, we ensure all our employees are adequately trained and we are accredited members of the national health and safety pre-qualification schemes; CHAS and SAFEcontractor. Both schemes scrupulously audit the arrangements and organisation of health and safety prior to awarding accreditation.

Furthermore, the organisation is a registered member of both Gas Safe and OFTEC for all gas and oil installations respectively and maintain the highest standards of safety throughout all our building projects.

Environment

As an environmentally aware organisation, managing environmental issues in a systematic way is important to us. Through the continual development of our Environmental Management System (EMS) we endeavour to make our products and services more sustainable.

We recognise that it is important to identify and assess our environmental aspects, impacts and risks involved with the works we do. Our objectives and targets are developed to ensure we continually improve our environmental performance, implementing them through environmental improvement programmes.

The organisation has made great strides with its environmental performance, in particular through the monitoring and analysis of our activities we have reduced; the amount of construction waste that we send to landfill through recycling of paper, plastics, timber, stone etc, the organisations annual mileage and our overall carbon footprint.

The issue of sustainability is growing ever more important and construction has potentially the greatest impact than any other sector or activity. The introduction of the Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) by the government has further reinforced this. The Code is the government standard for the sustainable design and construction of new homes and has been designed to reduce carbon emissions and create homes that are more sustainable for future generations.

The organisation has vast experience working with the Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) having been involved with numerous developments requiring compliance.
