Built for use of the town’s junior and senior football teams, the scheme provided a new clubhouse, function and changing facilities, alongside the construction of a new pitch. Built within the National Park the use of traditional materials was paramount.
Low maintenance and running costs were of high importance and therefore the installation of a free water system and boreholes down to 15m with a ground source heat pump provided free heat to the building for the years to come. The use of a number of local sub-contractors ensured the project maintained its community feel.
