We are delighted that work has officially commenced on a new fully affordable housing scheme in Appleby, Cumbria!
Working in partnership with Home Group, the scheme will revitalise an unused brownfield site within the market town of Appleby, delivering much needed housing. The scheme will provide 25 affordable houses, 16 of which will be affordable rent and 9 shared ownership.
The homes will be built with an enhanced building envelope, including air source heat pumps, solar panels, and electric vehicle charging points, showcasing our shared commitment to sustainable living.
The Atkinsons team is delighted to continue our partnership with Home Group, addressing the housing needs of our communities. The commencement of the project is a great achievement given the successful navigation of the planning process, overcoming difficulties surrounding Nutrient Neutrality (NN). Notably, this is the only major development to have been successfully approved following the introduction of NN by Natural England in March 2023; a substantial accomplishment for all those involved.
The scheme is due to be completed in 2025, and we look forward to further developing our working relationship with Home Group during this period.
