We are proud to announce the completion of the Chase Park and Paddock Row housing development in Penrith, which marks a significant milestone in addressing the affordable housing need in Eden.
Delivered in conjunction with national housing provider The Riverside Group, this development introduces 76 high-quality 100% affordable homes to the area.
Along with the diverse range of 2 to 4-bedroom homes, the development has enabled many residents of Eden to step onto the property ladder through providing a mix of shared ownership, rent-to-buy and affordable rent options.
It has been particularly important to us that the scheme met the varied needs of the community it serves, with several affordable and adaptable properties delivered with residents in mind, such as a fully adapted home for a local family with a disabled child.
Not only are Atkinsons passionate about meeting the needs of our community, but we strive to deliver efficient and sustainable solutions.
We have worked to incorporate environmentally conscious features at the scheme in Eden such as electric vehicle charge points and the planting of over 500 trees in the area.
Each of the 76 homes have also been designed to use only 100 litres of water per person per day, which is 25 litres lower than standard building regulations. Combined with the improved air tightness, high efficiency windows, quality boiler with thermostatic control, and overall attention to the thermal performance of the homes, residents can benefit from a reduction in energy and water bills, as well as a reduced environmental impact.
Atkinsons’ and Riverside’s dedication to delivering high-quality, sustainable, and affordable housing solutions is clear in this development. This project not only provides much-needed homes but also enhances the local community and environment, setting a new standard for future developments in the region. We look forward to continuing this partnership and vital delivery of housing throughout Cumbria.
