Due to CV19, a collective decision was made (by all parties involved including Rev David Sarger (Chuches Together) that sadly the Penrith Beacon Cross would not be erected this year due to the risks to the public and for fear of spreading the coronavirus; in particular that it may encourage groups of people walking up the narrow path to the Beacon in masses which is not in line with Governments instruction for social distancing at this time.
It would be great however if children were to draw the Penrith Beacon and the cross and place in their windows with the Rainbows of Hope to celebrate Easter…… so Penrith will not be without the cross after all.
